This novella was originally part of Silver Screen Kisses (Echo Ridge Romance Anthology #3).Elise Gibson needs money to help her Granny pay the back taxes on the house so she's taken on another job (this makes 3)--this one's at the Emerald Inn, the B&B in Echo Ridge. She's going to redecorate the basement and turn it into a home theater. While stripping the outdated wallpaper she meets Mr. Tall Dark & Handsome who's staying at the B&B. Elise has no idea he's Prince Weston Montoya of Riodan, a small island east of the Bermuda Triangle. Weston is there to get some time away from the mess his oldest brother has made and to work on a project to help his people continue to be self sufficient.
I liked how hard working Elise was and how much she cared about her Granny. Speaking of Granny--she was a fun character. One of my favorite lines was when someone in the county assessor's office came to talk to her about her overdue property taxes. "You're a dear." Granny patted his cheek. "Now go on and ruin someone else's day." I laughed out loud. Weston is humble for a prince and really cares about people. If I would've known that I could meet a prince while removing wallpaper I would've tried that a long time ago. 😊
This is a clean romance with a lot of heart and sweet moments.

The Princess Bride of Riodan Echo Ridge Romance Book 3 edition by Rachelle J Christensen Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I was probably the most excited to read this story that is part of the Echo Ridge Romance collection because The Princess Bride is one of my most favorite movies of all time!! Of course, that put me with really high expectations. This story was well-written, but I think I wanted to read it more along the lines of the story following the movie story. Instead, the story connection to the movie was that there was a prince and a commoner and then lots of word-for-word direct movie quotes scattered throughout the story. Sometimes those were perfectly placed, but a few felt a little forced (like the miracle man ones). I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters and also the addition of the other man who expressed an interest in Elise and their dating, so that she had to choose between the two!! (**SPOILER** secretly, I wanted her to end up with him instead of the prince, which I expected, probably as a red herring, from the many Roman Holiday references!!) (P.S., I'm still waiting for my prince to sweep me off my feet with "as you wish"....ha ha ha ha!!!)
Elise is redecorating the theater room of the local B&B, where she meets handsome Wes, not realizing initially who he is--a prince from the island of Riodan. Once she does realize who he is, she can't believe that, despite the instant connection between them, that there's any way she and Wes can make things work, so when Billy, her high school crush, asks her out, she wonders if she'd be better off going for the local guy who won't have to return home to his kingdom someday.
Elise is funny; I love how she just blurts things out. Wes is pretty dreamy. There were a couple times when I felt like the references to The Princess Bride were a little awkward but there were other times when they were really funny. It made me want to go re-watch the movie to see what other references I might have missed. This is a sweet, enjoyable romance.
I received a copy of the book from the author; all opinions are my own.
A fairly short story-- but well laid out, some awkwardness in the wording, sentence structures, and punctuation, but it is unusual in that it actually has a real story that sputters like an old car getting started, then picks up a rhythm and exhibits some real power as it slices boldly to make the final act of the story more then halfway realistic, which is very, very rare in the romance world.
Girl meets guy, guy and girl fall for each other, girl and guy have a problem, guy and girl manage to work their way past the problem, the rhythm of the story is like the rhythm of the waves, you begin to depend on the fact that the characters are not self absorbed egotistical spoiled brats, and thus it works well.
I feel some greater effort should have been taken with the wording, particularly in the early part, and that the story should have continued further, not ending where it did, but it is still one of the better romances of this type, and fits well for a fairly quick, not too difficult reading.
I bought it today, read it in one sitting, and it felt good, it delivered the premise, and avoided looking like a junior high school essay. And that is HIGH praise.
